Dear Butterfly,
Your wings are so symmetrical; their colors so divine.
I want to be your friend in flight. Will you be my valentine?
Hopefully yours,
Cattie Pillar
Dear Cattie,
You’ve got legs, not wings. Change takes time, don't you know?
Eat plenty of leaves and these chocolates to help you grow.
Patiently yours,
Butterfly
Dear Butterfly,
The chocolates were fruit-filled…and quite yummy!
I ate them all! Then, got an upset tummy.
Miserably yours,
Cattie
Dear Cattie,
Here are more leaves to help you feel better.
It’s almost time to burrow in your thick sweater.
Patiently yours,
Butterfly
Butterfly,
Time to cocoon!
Let’s meet at noon
on Valentine’s Day.
See you soon!
Cattie
Dear Cattie Chrysalis,
You slept the day away. I missed you. But, that’s okay.
I will be waiting with a kiss after your metamorphosis.
Patiently yours,
Butterfly
Butterfly!
Look at my beautiful wings! Oh, be still my heart!
Though, I am sorry we spent Valentine’s Day apart.
Hopefully still yours,
Cattie-fly
Dear Cattie-fly,
Our friendship is worth the wait!
Let’s fly and celebrate
our Valentine’s a day late.
Finally yours,
Butterfly
Dearest Butterfly,
Thank you for the soaring soiree –
my best ever Valentine’s Day!
Lovingly yours,
Cattie-fly

Love the epistolary format, the sweet, unique story, and the added bonus of getting to learn something. Hey! You got the word "metamorphosis" in there! :) Thanks for a very creative entry, Amanda!
